DIRECTIONS:  Using anatomical terminology, explain the location of the injury. What position would the patient need to be in in order to be examined? Which cavity? Where is it in relation to the neck? The belly button? Is it in the front or back of the body?

Pasqual is a 36 year old male who is presenting with pain in the center of his chest. Examination shows that the patient has an abscess (puss filled mound) on the skin that you suspect needs to be lanced (cut) to relieve the pressure. 

Gerardo is a 23 year old male who has ruptured his large intestine. They are going to cut into the left side of his abdomen about two inches below the navel.

·      What position does the patient need to be in?
